Born in York in 1981, I work largely with performance, using texts, video fragments and choreographies – either composed or strategically plundered from elsewhere – to explore how knowledge and meaning are generated through relationships with others. Fundamental to this has been a desire to rethink conventional approaches to the assemblage and recounting of history.
Since 2016 I have with CIRCA Projects on an extended body of work that aims to extend the idea of collaboration and open creative processes in the context of the North East of England.
Exhibitions and performances have been hosted variously by CCA Glasgow, Kunsthalle Basel, The Hepworth (Wakefield), The Northern Charter (Newcastle), The Chisenhale Gallery (London), OUTPOST Gallery (Norwich), Transmission Gallery (Glasgow) and Kunst Werke (Berlin).
